As part of an NLHF funded regeneration of the 50-acre park in Lincoln, we created an educational complex providing facilities for disadvantaged adults to learn life skills.

 

Some of the facilities were created out of a two-storey derelict Victorian stable block which was rebuilt to provide life-skills classrooms and staff accommodation.

 

We also created a new eco-designed café and adjoining commercial quality greenhouse. The students would learn horticultural skills and sell plants from the greenhouse; and the café would be operated by the students to learn culinary as well as commercial and public interaction skills.

 

The café building was built using Hempcrete blocks as part of the construction and the design allowed for ‘wind tower’ naturally cooling, allowing heat to rise and escape.
