ELTHAM ORANGERY

ELTHAM

“An exemplary example of constructive conservation”

The Orangery is an important listed building in a difficult location where vandalism is a significant problem. Following extensive discussions with the local authority and English Heritage we secured planning consent for a bold modern extension housing nine office units which give the historic structure a sustainable use for the future.

At the re-opening ceremony, Nigel Barker, EH Planning and Conservation director for London, described the project as “an exemplary example of constructive conservation”.
