St Pancras is a Grade II* Georgian church positioned on a busy urban site adjoining a 1960’s office and retail unit. The practice was commissioned to review the options for redeveloping the office site to provide mixed use residential and community use. We created an innovative glazed internal ‘street’ re-connecting two external public spaces north and south of the church, providing a promenade space with café and new entrance into the church plus community facilities including four multi-purpose halls. Above, the scheme allows for three self-contained 2 bedroom flats.
