CRANFORD

PARK

HILLINGDON

The original mansion at Cranford Park was demolished in the 1940s leaving the Grade II stable block and subterranean cellars. Following funding from the NLHF, we were commissioned to carry out designs for new public facilities within the park, making the destination more attractive for visitors.

Our design superimposed the house plan over the cellars and, extruding up the room layouts, we managed to create a new contemporary visitor centre in brick and Corten accommodating a new café as well as a vertical core down to the cellars below. The cellars, closed for over 50 years, will be used for events including pop-up cinema screenings and interpretation. The surrounding park regeneration was designed by CBA Landscape Architects.
